Yves Dehaut,
PMHNP-BC
My name is Yves Dehaut, PMHNP-BC and I have been a nurse for over 25 years. I am currently the Nurse Manager on the Trauma Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital. I started my nursing career as an LPN on a medical unit and decided to pursue my degree in nursing. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at Florida Atlantic University in 2000. My first job was at Mercy Hospital in Miami Dade. I became part of the Jackson Memorial Hospital family in 2001 as a Registered Nurse on a Progressive Care Unit. I became the Associate Nurse Manager of that unit leading my team in providing the best in healthcare and fostering nursing services in a caring and supportive environment. I truly enjoy working as a nurse leader with the medical staff and colleagues while helping patients and their families. I’m experienced in emergency services, part of the De-Con Team, and have volunteered for various medical healthcare services such as traveling to Haiti in 2010 with my fellow JMH colleagues after the devastating earthquake.
For many years of my nursing career, I have had extensive experience in a supervisory role at long terms facilities caring for patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, and many other mental health disorders. I returned to graduate school twice: in 2013 to earn my master’s degree—Clinical Nurse Leader and most recently in 2019 to earn my Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, both from Florida Atlantic University. I hope to continue assisting the nursing and medical professions by caring for and supporting those suffering from mental illness.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, jogging, traveling, mentoring nursing students,
and enjoying a variety of sports events, especially soccer.
